General Bipin Rawat Visits Indian Army Troops In Dras Sector, Takes Stock Of Operational Preparedness

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Bipin Rawat on Friday (19 July) visited the Dras sector of Jammu and Kashmir state and reviewed the operational preparedness of the forces, reports Asian News International (ANI).
During the course of the visit, General Rawat interacted with soldiers deployed on the Line of Control (LoC) and was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.
The Army chief, while interacting with the jawans, appreciated the resolve and tenacity of the soldiers guarding the borders in the harsh terrain and extreme weather conditions. He also called on the ranks of 'Fire and Fury' corps to execute their assigned tasks with the same josh, vigour and responsibility as the troops did during Operation Vijay in the sector in 1999.
General Rawat was also briefed by the General Officer Commanding, 'Fire and Fury' corps, on the present situation and operational realities in the sector which is on the frontline of the India's territories against Pakistan.
