The Government is working on a super app that would provide a one-stop solution for all vehicle ownership and driving license-related services and eliminate the need for the common man to visit the different websites of different States and Union Territories (UTs), reports Times of India.
The said super app is being developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and would require the vehicle owners to sign in just once to avail all the facilities. These would include payment of taxes, issuance of duplicate RC, fitness certificate or permit, or transfer of ownership etc.
The users will also be able to use facilities like the change of address, hypothecation and issuance of the NOC.
Users will also be able to avail online learner's license, new driving license, or renew an older one. They will also be able to get duplicate driving licences or international driving permits.
In addition to all of the above, the app will also facilitate the payment of challans online. Also, the app will generate alerts for users to update them about the renewal of documents and due payments.
