Another metro project is soon all set to be a reality as the Haryana Government led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has accorded its nod to the Gurugram Metro project on Monday (27 May), reports Times of India.
The detailed project report (DPR) which received the CM khattar's nod mentions June 2025 as the deadline for the project's commissioning. However, CM Khattar has asked for the deadline to be revised and expedited to 2024.
The discussion on the DPR took place at the fourth meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) since its inception. The meeting took place in Chandigarh and witnessed participation from several state government agencies.
The project as a whole is expected to cost Rs 5,126 crore and will be starting from Huda City centre, pass via Subhash Chowk, Sector 10, Sector 23 and Udyog Vihar to then connect with Cybercity.
The appointment of interim consultants for the project is expected by September 2019 and the central government's nod is expected by December 2019.
