Kalpana Tiwari, the wife of Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, accompanied by her brother and two daughters met the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath at his residence on Monday, two days after her husband was allegedly shot dead by a Lucknow police constable. The UP administration has assured the family of all forms of assistance in the aftermath of the tragedy.

She reiterated her faith in the state government and said that her faith was strengthened after meeting the CM. She added that she had gained confidence after meeting the CM who accepted all her demands and will be able to fulfil the responsibilities left behind by her husband.

A compensation of Rs 25 lakh and a job in the municipal corporation for Kalpana, fixed deposits of Rs five lakh each for their two daughter and Rs five lakh for her mother-in-law.

Based on the complaint lodged by the 38-year-old Apple executive’s colleague Sana Khan, who was with him in the car, Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested the two constables for excessive use of force as he was shot for trying to evade a routine check.

Kalpana filed a second FIR after Sana was denied permission to make or receive calls by the police officials who reached the spot of the crime. It also accused police officers of forcing Khan to sign on a blank sheet of paper, as reported by Indian Express.

A Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the case.

The case has gained a lot of traction all over the country with the UP police constables being criticised for excessive use of force.

BJP spokesperson and lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay, meanwhile, filed an FIR against the Chief Minister Of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal for his comments on social media on the grounds of promoting enmity using religion and caste and defaming BJP leaders.
