On Wednesday, Rajen Gohain, Union Minister of State for Railways, reiterating Narendra Modi government’s stand on infrastructure and passenger amenities, said that on the lines of national highways being developed daily, 20-23 km of railway tracks were being laid every day by the Indian Railway, UNI has reported.
The Minister was speaking at Secunderabad railway station on the sidelines of the foundation stone-laying ceremony of infrastructure development and passenger amenities works that will be carried out at various place in Telangana.
Gohain dedicated an Electronic Passenger Guidance System at Malkajgiri Railway station and the third railway line to the nation in Manchiryal-Paddampet section.
The Minister also flagged a train extending from Nizamabad to Karimnagar.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, BJP-led NDA government, during the last four years, had taken up infrastructure and passenger amenities development as an important task, and the stone-laying ceremony was a part of that.
