Continuing her invincible run, golden girl Hima Das snatched her fifth gold of the month, winning the women's' 400-metre race in the Nove Mesto Meet in the Czech Republic on Saturday, recording a season-best time of 52.09 seconds, reports Indian Express.
Her season-best performance stood at 52.88 seconds before Saturday. Her personal best is 50.79 seconds, recorded at the Asian Games last year.
This is Dhing Express's fifth gold medal since 2 July, after she started her first competitive race in Europe where she soared at 23.65 seconds on her way to gold in the 200 m race at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix.
Das followed it with another gold at the Kutno Athletics meet in Poland, on 7 July, finishing the 200 m mark in 23.97 seconds.
Stretching her golden run, the teenage sensation bettered her previous timing by clocking 23.43 seconds on her way to another peak in the 200 m event at the Kladno Athletics Meet on 13 July.
She added one more gold in the 200 m race at the Tabor Athletics Meet, on July 16, 2019, in the Czech Republic with a time of 23.25 seconds
The 19-year-old is specialising on her pet discipline of 400 m sprint and has raised medal hopes for India in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in athletics, a discipline in which Indians have not had a single podium finish for nearly 120 years.
