Tata Sky has announced a 150 per cent hike in the minimum permissible recharge amount for its customers as it has increased the minimum required amount effective 11 February, Dream DTH has reported.
As per the report, the minimum recharge amount which was Rs 20 till now, has been hiked to Rs 50 and existing customers have been appraised of the same via a text message on their registered mobile number.
In case a customer decides to recharge their service for any amount less than Rs 50 either via the Tata Sky portal or via any third party app, they will get an error message and the recharge will not proceed.
The Rs 20 recharge is said to have been popular with many customers who wished to only resume their service for one to two days.
It was recently reported that Tata Sky is now also discontinuing its standard definition set top box offering and will henceforth only sell HD set top boxes.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
