A Project Management Unit is being set up for the roll-out of School Education Quality Index (SEQI), which aims at institutionalising focus on improving education outcomes at the state and union territories (UT) level, Parliament was told on Monday (5 December).
Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha, in a written reply to a Lok Sabha question, said that the SEQI was being jointly worked out by the ministry and the NITI Aayog.
While organising the first regional workshop on SEQI in the national capital in November, the NITI Aayog had said the objective of the Index was to sensitise and support states and UTs in improving learning outcomes among school children across India.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
