A 19-year-old pregnant woman identified as Bhagyashree was found murdered in Karnataka’s Madikeri town on Wednesday (6 May), Times of India has reported.
Her husband Sahul Hameed is the prime suspect in the matter.
The two had been married in August 2019 but only registered their marriage on 29 April. Following the registration Bhagyashree also changed her name to Suhan.
As per the report, Hameed picked up a fight with her on Tuesday night (5 May) and the next day a worried and crying Bhagyashree called her mother who is an Anganwadi worker.
The mother then rushed to Bhagyashree’s home but found her lying motionless on the bed. Neighbours were alerted by the mother’s cries and the cops were called.
A complaint was later filed by the mother and the cops have now arrested Hameed.
