Poor residents belonging to a Hindu dominated locality in Kerala’s Kuttipuram were denied drinking water for supporting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by the Narendra Modi led central government, Janam TV has reported.
The report claimed that an individual living near the locality used to supply them drinking water but refused to do so after finding out that the residents support CAA.
Seva Bharti activists later rushed to the rescue of the residents and provided drinking water.
It may be recalled that soon after the enactment of CAA, the state witnessed large scale protests which was aided by radical Islamist group PFI. The mobs were also spurred on by Islamist journalists who spread fake news.
The Communist Kerala government too has been a vocal critic of the act and has vowed to stall its implementation in the state. It has also knocked on the doors of the SC to try and get the act repelled.
