In an important achievement by an Indian supplier for indigenous defence manufacturing, Sasmos Het Technologies, a firm headquartered in Bengaluru, has made on-schedule delivery of the 2,000th wiring harness assembly to be used in the MICA missile programme to European missile manufacturer MBDA, reports The Hindu BusinessLine.

Moreover, Sasmos has also accomplished its maiden delivery of qualified first article products as part of the Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (Asraam) programme to MBDA. MICA and Asraam have been chosen by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its air-to-air missile arsenal, and to meet this requirement MBDA and Sasmos have been working together since 2013.

These two achievements of Sasmos are part of the successful early beginning of the defence aerospace industry in India.

MBDA country head, India Loïc Piedevache highlighted the significance of the milestones which have been reached.

“This is also a good example of MBDA’s industrial partnership in India. For many years MBDA has been working closely with Indian Industrial partners on high end technologies with significant quantities and business values over the years,” he stated.
