Meerut: Woman Constable Raped By Policeman Father-In-Law, Gets Triple Talaq From Husband

In a shocking incident, a woman constable in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly raped by her father-in-law, who is part of the reserve police force Provincial Arms Constabulary(PAC), reports India Today.
Citing the incident, the husband of the woman, who is also a policeman, divorced her by pronouncing triple talaq. As per the reports, the woman was alone when her father-in-law Nazeer Ahmad raped her.
When she narrated the gruesome incident to her husband, he divorced her using hte banned triple talaq system. She also stated that the accused had threatened to kill the woman if she revealed the crime to anyone.
She added that she got married three years ago and was being harassed and beaten for dowry.
SP (City) Vineet Bhatnagar said the police have launched a case against the main accused Nazeer, who is posted in Ghaziabad, and his son Abid, who works at the Police Lines in Meerut, at the Kotwali Police Station.
