The Northeastern states of India are set to receive further development push with the Modi Government set to launch 200 projects worth Rs 3,000 crore in the region before the completion of its first 100 days if being in power itself, reports Economic Times.
The information was made public by the Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jitendra Singh on Sunday (4 August). This would mean an average of two projects worth Rs 30 crore being launched every day of this course.
According to Singh, projects are being launched in a targeted and streamlined approach. For instance, a key project under the action plan includes the setting up of bamboo industrial park at Manderdisa of Dima Hasao district of Assam, over an area of 75 hectares at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
The centre, under the plan, had accorded release of funds for road projects under the North East State Road Improvement Project within the first 50 days of coming to power. Also, two projects worth Rs 89.63 crore got started during this course, along with Rs 26.83 crore worth three projects which have already been operationalised.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
