In what may seem as a warning to the BJP, PDP leader and former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that any attempts to break the PDP will give birth to more Yasin Maliks and Salahuddins in the state.
Salahuddin heads the Kashmiri terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujhaideen and Yasin Malik is a former terrorist who is now part of the Hurriyat Conference.
If Delhi, tries to dismiss the voting rights of people like 1987, if it tries to create divisions & interfere like that then I think just like a Salahuddin and a Yasin Malik were born in 1987...if it tries to break PDP like that then outcomes will be dangerous:Mehbooba Mufti, J&K pic.twitter.com/vxmtVmFWqf

Mufti was referring to the 90s era when Islamic militancy was peaking in the state and when several terrorist organisations, including Hizbul Mujahideen, were born in the state. The warning comes after rumours that the BJP might pitch for government formation in the state with the support of independents and rebels from the PDP.
Mufti had stepped down as the state’s CM last month after the BJP-PDP alliance broke down over the security situation in the state. The state has been under Governor’s rule ever since.
Meanwhile, NC leader Omar Abdullah countered Mufti’s claim and accused her of allowing terrorism to rear its head while she was in power.
She must really be desperate if she is threatening the centre with renewed militancy if PDP breaks up. She seems to have forgotten that militancy in Kashmir has already been reborn under her most able administration. https://t.co/aEmQXe0YaL
