Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has claimed that the state was ill prepared for the Coronavirus pandemic and no Covid-19 tests were done till 23 March - when he took over as Chief Minister after the collapse of the Kamal Nath led Congress government, ANI has reported.
Chouhan has also claimed that the state did not have any testing infrastructure at its disposal but now nine testing labs are functioning in the state.
He has also assured that Rs 1,000 would be deposited in the bank accounts of Madhya Pradesh people who are working as migrant workers in other states. He added that the government has been in touch with other Chief Minister’s to ensure food supply and shelter.
Madhya Pradesh has so far reported 730 positive Covid-19 cases and 50 deaths.
