Union Minister for Roads Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will be inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for highway projects worth Rs 9,400 crore in the State of Madhya Pradesh (MP) tomorrow (25 August), reports Economic Times.
The event would involve a total of 35 highway projects with a total length of 1,139 kilometres spread across the State, and it will be presided over by Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The event which is to be held in a virtual fashion will also be attended by Union Ministers Thavarchand Gehlot, Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, Faggan Singh Kulsate, VK Singh and several others.
The official statement released by the Ministry of Roads Transport and Highways (MoRTH) said, the projects would pave the way for the development of MP, and that these roads will enhance better connectivity, convenience and economic growth in the State.
It should be noted that the Gadkari led MoRTH and the MP Government are also engaged in the building of the much-talked-about Chambal Expressway which is proposed to have an alignment passing through the backward and poorest parts of MP. The project is expected to be launched soon.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
