Newly minted Chartered Accountants (CA) have received about 3,297 offers from various companies during the forty-ninth campus placement program conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Tax Scan has reported.
As per ICAI President Prafulla P Chhajed, the campus placement program was organised in the months of February and March at 17 centres across India. A total of 9,000 candidates participated in the placement program.
The recruiters comprised of 141 companies and 269 interview teams. This is said to be the best ever response by recruiters in ICAI’s placement drives. 3,297 offers have already been made and the number is expected to go up to 5,000.
In the placement program conducted from the period of August-September 2018, 111 companies and 204 interview teams participated to offer 1,593 job offers.
The highest package offered during the drive was 22.62 lakh for Indian posting and 35 lakh for foreign placement.
The demand for chartered accountants is said to be steadily rising and ICAI has been taking a variety of steps like creating job news web portals to help CAs find new openings.
ICAI also launched a placement assistance program for CA students across the country. Those having cleared the intermediate level tests along with having a 10 month articleship experience are eligible for the program.
