‘No Time To Think, People Had To Be Rescued’, Says Gujarat Policeman Who Carried Kids On Shoulder In Floodwaters

A Gujarat policeman who waded through waist-deep flood waters carrying two children on his shoulder said that the situation was so dire that there was no time to think, therefore he carried the children on his shoulder, reports ANI.
A video of the heroic act went viral on social media, and made the policeman a sensation.
Pruthviraj Jadeja carried two children on his shoulders for over 1.5 km in Kalyanpur village. He was the part of of the police team deployed to rescue children trapped in a school in the village after water accumulated around their school building.
“We received information regarding 40 people trapped near Kalyaan road. Our team reached the spot and rescued everyone. The situation was so that there was no time to think. People had to be rescued at any cost. So, I carried the children on my shoulders,” said constable Jadeja.
Along with the public, Jadeja also received praise from Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani. Shamsher Singh, ADG Gujarat Police also praised constable Jadeja and called his actions “heroic”.
