Notorious Underworld Don Ravi Pujari, Once The Right Hand Man Of Chota Rajan, Arrested In Senegal

Underworld Don Ravi Pujari, who used to operate in Mumbai in the 1990s, has been arrested in Senegal, claimed media reports.

He was earlier believed to have been hiding in Australia.

Pujari, who has an Interpol red corner notice issued against him, was allegedly travelling from Burkina Faso when he was detained by a west African police force, a Times of India report claimed.

According to the TOI report, the Indian Intelligence officials were tipped off about Pujari’s likely arrest on Thursday (31 January) evening.

Ravi Shulya Pujari was born in Udupi district of Karnataka but shifted to Mumbai as a teenager where he started as a criminal in Andheri area and made a name for himself after killing gangster Bala Zalte.

As per reports, the notorious gangster was wanted in dozens of cases involving threat calls to celebrities and other famous personalities.

In 2014, his wife, Padma, was arrested post extradition. The arrest coincided with the registration of a first information report (FIR) against Pujari for threatening secretary of the Jamait-e-Ulema legal cell, Gulzar Azmi. Earlier, In 2015, he threatened noted lawyer Harish Salve.

At a point of time Pujari was Chota Rajan’s right-hand man but they fell out after Dawood Ibrahim attacked Rajan in Bangkok.
