Bhavish Agarwal-led home-grown electric vehicle maker Ola Electric is gearing to take its still-to-be-launched electric scooters to the international markets this fiscal itself, reports Economic Times.
While the company is slated to launch its electric scooter in India in the coming July, it plans to enter markets like France, Italy, and Germany this year. Last month, Ola Electric had announced setting up a 'Hypercharger Network' in the country that would include one lakh charging points across 400 cities.
Agarwal said, "We are going to be launching internationally this financial year itself, we will be selling internationally also. We start with India first but soon, we move into international markets with a focus on Europe."
Agarwal added that the company will be selling its scooters across all key markets in Europe. He explained that key markets are the big countries, especially those lying around the Mediterranean Sea. While identifying France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany as good markets, he also identified Spain as a great market to launch the scooters in.
The company is already on course to complete the construction of its Rs 2,400 crore electric scooter factory in Tamil Nadu. Once completed, the factory will have an initial capacity of producing two million electric scooters per annum, while creating 10,000 jobs.
