Ola Electric has launched its e-scooter named S1 and S1 Pro at a price of Rs 99,999 and Rs 129,999 respectively, though these costs will be reduced owing to the different subsidies offered by states for electric vehicles (EVs).
For instance, in Delhi, the S1 will be available for Rs 85,099 while S1 pro will be available for Rs 110,149.
The S1 variant will have a range of 121 km per charge whereas the same will be comparatively higher at 181 km per charge for the S1 Pro model. S1 and S1 Pro will have the top speed of 90 km/hour and 115 km/hour respectively.
The S1 model doesn’t have a key as it will have an auto lock and unlock facilities along with a cruise control feature as well, Economic Times reports.
The deliveries for these e-scooters will begin from October onwards, though its booking had commenced last month itself for a mere cost of Rs 499.
“Introducing the Ola Scooter at 2 p.m! The future is electric and it starts now!” Ola co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal declared on Twitter earlier today.
The company had established a brand new manufacturing factory at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu for a total cost of Rs 2354 crore for this e-scooter project.
The production facility is spread across 500 acres of land and is an integrated setup comprising of manufacturing unit along with battery and supplier parks that makes sure that over 90 per cent of the parts of the e-scooter are localised and thus available in close proximity.
