With Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi having announced the formation of a trust based in Greater Kailash in Delhi to carry out the building of a grand temple of Lord Ram in the ancient city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, the Mahavir temple from Bihar State's capital city of Patna has announced donation of Rs 10 crore for the construction of the temple, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Secretary of Mahavir Mandir Trust Kishor Kunal announcing the development, said that he was going to Ayodhya with a cheque of Rs two crore as a donation, and will donate a total sum of Rs 10 crore in instalments.
Kunal also shared that the Trust had found 30 coins dated 1818 with images of Lord Ram, his brother Lakshman, his wife Sita and Lord Hanuman inscribed on one side of them. He also informed that all the coins had been issued by the East India Company.
Kunal said that the 30 coins which were received in the donation box will be kept for the Ram temple.
