PM Modi Announces $14 Million Grant, $150 Million Line Of Credit For Solar And Renewable Projects For CARICOM Nations

During his visit to the United States (US) Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi announced a grant of $14 million for community development initiatives and projects in the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), reports India Today.
Furthermore, in a bid to give thrust to solar power generation in the region, PM Modi announced a $150 million Line of Credit (LoC) to be used for solar, renewable energy and other projects related to climate change.

The developments came after PM Modi held a meeting with 14 member states of the CARICOM on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) where PM Modi gave his first speech after returning to power, yesterday (27 September).
CARICOM is a grouping of 20 developing Carribbean nations which together formed an economic and political community which shapes the policies for the entire region and encourages mutual economic growth and trade.
