This meeting with the President - who is also the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, comes on the heels of Prime Minister Modi's surprise visit to Ladakh's Nimmoo brigade headquarters.
Prime Minister Modi visited Nimmooon Friday (5 July) to take stock of the ongoing Line of Actual Control (LAC) standoff with China and addressed the soldiers posted there. Prime Minister Modi also performed the Sindhu Darshan Puja at the banks of the Sindu river in Ladakh.
It was recently reported that the Indian Air Force (IAF) is fully prepared for operations and has been carrying out air exercises at forward bases near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
The IAF has been using its premier jets like Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, MiG-29s and combat helicopters like Apaches to carry out regular air sorties near the LAC.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
