A year ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cash-in-hand remained at Rs 1.5 lakh. This year, it has dropped 67 per cent to Rs 48,944 as of March 31. As per the latest filings for 2017-18, the overall worth of PM’s financial assets including those which are immovable has risen from Rs 2 crore to Rs 2.2 crore, according to Business Standard.

PM’s savings bank (SB) deposits in SBI Gandhinagar branch in 2017 stood at Rs 11 lakh. Fixed deposits stand at Rs 1.1 crore, as opposed to Rs 90 lakh earlier. There are infrastructure bonds worth Rs 20,000, National Savings Certificate worth Rs 5.18 lakh, and LIC policy of Rs 1.59 lakh as of March 2018.

According to previous declarations, PM Modi, once he took office as the Prime Minister, did not claim ownership of any personal vehicle.

There is no increase in presence of gold/jewellery. Four gold rings have been valued at Rs 1.3 lakh, based on the gold rates in March this year. His property has remained the same. A residential land he purchased about 16 years ago in Ahmedabad is valued at around Rs 1 crore.

Most of the declarations indicate that the assets have either been the same, or decreased in some cases.
