The president of the Goa Forward Party, Vijai Sardesai on Saturday (13 July) lamented that the incumbent Chief Minister (CM) of Goa, Pramod Sawant was trying to wipe out the legacy of the former CM Mahnohar Parrikar, reports Economic Times.
The comments from Sardesai came minutes after he had been sacked from Sawant's cabinet and government as the Deputy CM of the state, along with three other ministers to accommodate three of the ten newly inducted former Congress MLAs.
Sardesai also asserted had no central BJP leader displayed the courage and the moral authority to themselves ask him to resign from the government, a message which was communicated to him telephonically by Sawant on Friday (12 July).
Sardesai further added that two days before Parrikar had died, he had met him, and the ailing CM had requested him to continue his support to the BJP-led coalition government even after his death for the full term of five years.
"I asked him (Parrikar) what is in your mind about the road ahead after you. He was bleeding from his lungs. He said, 'Vijai both of us came together for five years, irrespective of whether I am there or not,' That is why we had supported Pramod Sawant," Sardesai said.
