On the anniversary of 2001 Parliament attack, President Ram Nath Kovind along with other Union ministers on Friday (13 December) paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the gruesome incident, reports News18.
President Kovind tweeted, "A grateful nation salutes the exemplary valour and courage of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives while defending the Parliament from terrorists on this day in 2001. We remain firm in our resolve to defeat and eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations."

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted, "Today let us remember the martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending and protecting the Parliament of India from the terrorist attack."
On 13 December 2001, India’s Parliament House building, the iconic piece of architecture in Lutyen’s New Delhi was attacked by five armed terrorists resulting in the death of 14 people and injuries to 22 others. The attack was aborted by the security forces at the Parliament House avoiding what could have been a huge tragedy.
