Pulwama Encounter: Four Terrorists Killed, War-Like Stores Discovered From Site; Four Personnel Injured In Gunfight

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the wee hours today (1 April) in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, in which four terrorists were killed and four security personnel were injured, reports Indian Express.

According to the report, three army men and one Jammu and Kashmir police officer are among the injured. They are reportedly stable and being treated as per officials.

Srinagar-based defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia has reportedly confirmed the casualties. He added that the security forces have recovered weapons and war-like stores from the site of the encounter.

As per the report, following specific information about the terrorists’ presence in the Lassipora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir, a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched by the security forces. The encounter reportedly started after the terrorists fired upon the search party of the forces.

Earlier, last week, two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed and five army men were injured in a pre-dawn encounter in the outskirts of the Srinagar. According to the police, one United States-made M4 carbine rifle was recovered from the terrorists.
