The 33-year old was reported for suspected action during the first of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Australia in Sydney. He was then supposed to submit a test of his bowling action within 14 days, but has failed to do so.
The ICC has hence suspended him with immediate effect under Clause 4.2 of the ICC regulations. The suspension will remain until he is tested and is able to demonstrate that he can bowl legally.
The Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings player will, however, be able to bowl in both domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
