Ever since its inception, Reliance Jio has rattled the Indian Telecom space. It started the trend of providing unlimited voice calls and data which other telecom giants like Vodafone, Bharti Airtel and others followed, making cheap telecom services available for millions of Indians.
Jio has yet again set itself apart from the rest by being the first telecom operator to introduce India’s first VoLTE international roaming plan between the country and Japan, reports India Today.
Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio plans to let Jio users travelling from India to Japan experience HD voice calling and LTE high-speed data.
"Reliance Jio is focused on delivering the best data and voice experience to all of India and those who visit India. We welcome KDDI customers to Jio as the first international VoLTE and HD roaming users in India," said Mark Yarkosky, Vice President, Reliance Jio USA.
"Japan-based KDDI Corporation is the first international mobile service provider to avail of Jio's VoLTE calling and LTE data international roaming service which provides international travellers with access to high-speed data and voice services on Jio's all-IP, 4G-exclusive network," Reliance Jio noted.
International travellers who are travelling from India to Japan will be able to experience Jio’s all-IP network , due to the VoLTE international roaming plan. The network has been rated as the fastest network in India by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s MySpeed application in the past 20 months with an average download speed of 20.6 Mbps during the month of September.
