Merely hours after actress Reha Chakraborty's brother Showik Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), lawyer Satish Maneshinde has come forward to his legal defence, appearing to appeal against the remand proceedings pressed against him by the NCB.
Maneshinde is also the actress' legal defence in the sensational murder case of celebrated actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

He has been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau, in connection with #SushantSinghRajputDeathCase
The development comes after NCB yesterday (4 September) arrested Showik and Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda after a 10-hours-long interrogation. The NCB officials took the step as it had derived sufficient evidence against the two with respect to the drug angle in the murder case.
As per a report by Times of India, Showik had during the NCB interrogation also named his sister Rhea as a 'drug procurer'.
It should be noted that the NCB had already registered a case against Rhea, Showik, talent manager Jaya Saha, Rajput's co-manager Shruti Modi and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya under various sections of the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The case had been registered by NCB on 26 August after the Enforcement Directorate had first written to it about the drug angle.
