Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, has said that his company has spent close to Rs 100 crore for the Swachh Bharat, The New India Express has reported . The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched in 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"That foundation is the health of our people, which cannot be there without cleanliness and raising the level of sanitation and safe drinking water for the people," remarked Ratan Tata, while observing that the foundation of the country is based on the health of the people.

While lauding the Swachh Bharat Mission, Ratan Tata said, “Unfortunately, I don't have the face or the voice of Amitabh Bachchan to offer. I can only say that Tata Trusts, which have been in existence for 100 years, have spent over the last four years over Rs 100 crore in supporting the Swachh movement and will continue in the coming years, to support technology to be brought that will be necessary to make this a great success.”

The Prime Minister had written to over 2,000 eminent citizens from different walks of life to join the Swacchata Hi Seva movement to ensure the success of Swachh Bharat Mission.
