Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav died Monday (10 October) morning in Medanta hospital in Gurugram, where he was undergoing treatment.
SP's official handle tweeted the news quoting Mulayam's son and party president Akhilesh Yadav. "My respected father and everyone's Netaji is no more- Shri Akhilesh Yadav," it said.
82-year-old Mulayam was admitted to the hospital on 22 August and was shifted to ICU on 2 October and had been on lifesaving drugs since.
It is said that the drugs didn't help him improve his condition. His kidney ailments had also increased. He breathed his last at 8.15 am.
His last rites will be reportedly done in Saifai, his native village located in UP's Etawah district.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
