The police have cornered a suspected ISIS terrorist in the Thankurganj locality of Lucknow according to reports. The anti-terrorist operation is being headed by the Inspector General of the Lucknow Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
According to the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Daljit Chaudhary, the encounter was carried out after intelligence reports came in from Kanpur.
According to Gaurav C Sawant of India Today, the first tip-off came from Kerala where there is a suspected ISIS module. The police have now cornered the suspect inside a building in Haji Colony in Thakurganj where a gunfire battle is going on between the two sides.
