The Chinese military today (29 June) rejected Chief of Armed Staff (CoAS) General Bipin Rawat’s statement on India’s preparedness to fight a two-front war with both Pakistan and China.

Responding to General Rawat’s remarks, People’s Liberation Army spokesman Colonel Wu Qian said, “Such rhetoric is extremely irresponsible”. He further asked General Rawat to “stop clamouring for war”.

We hope that the particular person in the Indian Army could learn from historical lessons and stop such clamouring for war.

General Rawat had said on Wednesday (28 June) that the army was prepared to fight a two-and-a-half front war with Pakistan, China and internal aggression.
