The Lafayette Park and the north fence line of the White House were closed for investigation. The agency was prompt in addressing the situation as Modi, who was in the United States on the second leg of his three-nation tour, left for Amsterdam after meeting President Donald Trump at the White House.
Earlier in the day, US security agencies had made special arrangements to secure the hotel in which the Prime Minister was staying. Multiple trucks, with their trolleys full of sand, were lined parallel to the outer walls of the hotel to secure the area. All adjoining streets were closed for regular traffic.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
