Members of Islamic organisation Tablighi Jamaat, suspected to be a super-spreader of Covid-19 virus across India, indulge in Dawah Chilla activities, says a report in Daily Pioneer published today (1 April).
Dawah Chilla means religious education among non-believers of Islam with an intent to convert them to Islam, says the report.
The report, that cites unnamed “intelligence sources”, says that members conceal their identity with the Sufi form of Islam to evade scrutiny of the security agencies and gain acceptance in the society whereas they actually promote Sunni form of Islam.
Chilla activities in all states are coordinated by district coordinators and are focused where non-Muslims are in majority, says the report.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
