Discussions on the Kartarpur Corridor resumed between Indian and Pakistani delegations today (14 July) with India pushing for Pakistan to allow 5,000 pilgrims to cross the border to visit the holy shrine every day, reports Zee News.

The Indian delegation also underscored the importance of making the corridor operational before November 2019 given the month would witness 550th Birth Anniversary of the Guru Nanak Dev.

Further Indian interlocutors also shared the details of a bridge being built by India and asked the Pakistani delegation that they too should build a similar bridge on their side to mitigate the possible flood related concerns in the region.

The India delegation was led by SCL Das, Joint Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and Deepak Mittal, Joint Secretary (PAI- Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
