The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has promised to start ‘deshbhakti’ (patriotism) curriculum in government schools in New Delhi, several newspapers have reported.
As per a report by Economic Times, the party released its 28-point manifesto for the Delhi assembly elections on Tuesday (4 January). The manifesto also promises to send 10 lakh senior citizens on pilgrimages over the five years.
However, party head Arvind Kejriwal had made public the plan last year itself. An Economic Times report from August 2019 quotes Kejriwal as saying, “We have decided that the time has come to take concrete steps towards building a class of patriotic citizens.”
A report in Pune Mirror has called it a counter to the BJP’s narrative of nationalism.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
