The Jammu and Kashmir Police today (4 September) said that it has killed two terrorists in an encounter in the Sopore township in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Check-e-Brath area of Sopore.

Officials also said that the identity and affiliation of the terrorists was yet to be ascertained.
With the Kashmir valley seeing an increase in terrorist activities, security forces have eliminated more than 100 terrorists this year alone.
