After three new cases were detected on Wednesday (13 May), the Covid-19 tally in Uttarakhand has increased to 72, reports Hindustan Times.
The three new Covid-19 positive persons included a 30-year-old Jamaati from Nainital district who was part of a group of 14 Jamaatis who recently returned to the state from Maharashtra’s Amaravati.
A 27-year-old man with travel history from Gurugram tested positive in the hilly district of Almora while a 52-year-old woman from Dehradun was also found Covid-19 positive.
Meanwhile, in the neighbouring Himachal, two new Covid-19 cases were detected, taking the tally of positive cases in the state to 69.
The new patients -- a 30-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter -- have tested positive for coronavirus in Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district. The duo was in home quarantine.
The woman's husband would also be tested, while her two-and-a-half-year old son tested negative.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
