The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a video showing a Boeing Ch-47 Chinook making its maiden landing at Air Force Station Chandigarh. The Chinook is known to be a versatile transport helicopter which has been tested in operations in many battle zones. You can watch the video below:
The #Chinook, with its battle-hardened tenacity & famed versatility, is a tremendous asset for IAF helicopter fleet. An unmatched load carrying capacity & âgo anywhereâ capability makes Chinook a perfect platform to enhance IAFâs reach to challenging & far-flung areas. pic.twitter.com/0gfd10Xubi

It also has one of the heaviest load-carrying capacities among military transport helicopters. A single Chinook helicopter can carry up to 45 soldiers and has a maximum payload capacity of 10 tonnes.
The Indian Air Force has 15 units of the Chinook on order, with its first five helicopters having been delivered in February 2019.
The whole fleet of Chinooks is expected to be delivered by March 2020, greatly boosting the transport capabilities of the IAF. The total deal was worth $1.5 billion.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
