While Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut have trained their guns on Railways Minister Piyush Goyal over the issue of migrant trains, Goyal was praised by NCP leader Praful Patel.
Uddhav Thackery on Sunday (25 May) accused the Railways Ministry of not providing enough trains for migrants which was countered by Goyal who stated that, “Where is the list for 125 trains from Maharashtra? As of 2 AM, received list of only 46 trains of which 5 are to West Bengal and Odisha which cannot operate due to cyclone Amphan. We are notifying only 41 trains for today despite being prepared for 125”.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also targeted Goyal over a diverted migrant train which reached Gorakhpur after a delay of 1.5 days.
Shiv Sena’s ally NCP though has taken a different stance on the matter. Senior leader Praful Patel said that the centre is under pressure to run the trains.
“Their efforts should be respected. We appreciate that they are providing trains so that people can reach home”, Patel was quoted as saying.
