In the wake of Operation Sindoor, launched on 7 May following the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, the Centre has announced a major diplomatic outreach by dispatching seven all-party delegations to key partner nations to present a united front on India's counterterrorism policy, the Times of India reported.
These seasoned parliamentarians have been tasked with articulating India’s bipartisan resolve against terrorism in their interactions abroad.
"The all-party delegations will project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations," the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry was quoted by ToI.
"They would carry forth to the world the country's strong message of zero tolerance against terroris," it further stated.
Each delegation, comprising six to seven MPs, will visit 4 to 5 countries, covering regions of strategic importance:
Ravi Shankar Prasad’s team: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Algeria
Supriya Sule’s team: Oman, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt
Sanjay Jha’s team: Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia
Other MPs participating in various delegations reportedly include Anurag Thakur, Aparajita Sarangi, Manish Tewari, Asaduddin Owaisi, Amar Singh, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Samik Bhattacharya, Brij Lal, Sarfaraz Ahmad, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Vikramjit Sawhney, Sasmit Patra, and Bhubaneswar Kalita and Milind Deora.
Former Union Minister Salman Khurshid will reportedly accompany Jha’s delegation as a special envoy, despite not being a sitting MP.
