Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (4 November) launched a fierce attack on the Opposition while addressing a massive rally in Darbhanga’s Jale on the final day of campaigning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, reported India Today.

Targeting Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Shah accused him of leading a “Save Infiltrators Yatra” in Bihar two and a half months ago. “Lalu Yadav and Rahul Gandhi want to save infiltrators,” Shah alleged, asserting that the BJP would identify and expel them one by one.

Shah urged voters to prevent the return of “jungle raj” and strengthen the NDA’s development vision.

“Bihar has already seen 15 years of jungle raj under Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. The same model is now being pushed again. The NDA's priority is to stop the return of jungle raj and work towards making Darbhanga a developed district. Your role is to press the lotus button and strengthen this vision,” he said.

Highlighting the Modi government’s welfare initiatives, Shah said that 3.60 crore Biharis had received free medical care worth up to Rs 5 lakh each under Ayushman Bharat.

He cited the new IT Park in Darbhanga as a major boost for local employment and mentioned Rs 10,000 deposits made in 1.41 crore Jeevika Didi accounts, promising Rs 2 lakh over five years if NDA retains power.

Accusing Lalu Yadav of multiple scams and Congress of corruption worth Rs 12 lakh crore, Shah said no such allegations had surfaced against PM Modi or CM Nitish Kumar.

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on 6 and 11 November, with counting scheduled for 14 November. The NDA faces the INDI Alliance led by Tejashwi Yadav, while Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is contesting all 243 seats.
