The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is moving ahead with plans for the much-anticipated Navi Mumbai Aerocity, with the master plan expected to be finalised within the next three months, Economic Times reported.
Spread across 667 acres next to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), the Aerocity will feature residential, commercial, retail, industrial and mixed-use developments.
CIDCO is currently in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare the master plan and advise on transactions for the project.
Alongside the Aerocity, the authority is also working on proposals for an Educity, a Medicity and an International Corporate Park within a 10 km radius of NMIA.
Together, these projects aim to create an integrated hub that combines education, healthcare, aviation-linked businesses and global enterprises.
The Maharashtra government has accelerated work on these initiatives in line with NMIA’s commercialisation strategy.
Of the Aerocity’s 667 acres, around 123 acres each are likely to be earmarked for residential, commercial and retail purposes, while the rest will be allocated to mixed-use and industrial projects.
Officials noted that these complementary developments will enhance real estate prospects across Navi Mumbai, with demand expected to rise as new jobs and business opportunities emerge.
“These complementary developments are expected to boost real estate demand across Navi Mumbai and position the airport precinct as a major hub for investment and urban growth,” one official was quoted as saying.
Industry experts believe the Aerocity will redefine the region’s urban and real estate landscape.
With NMIA set for inauguration this week, the Aerocity plan marks a critical step in shaping Navi Mumbai’s next phase of growth.
