Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (7 February) replied to 'Motion of Thanks' in the Rajya Sabha.

In his speech, PM Modi accused Congress of creating narratives to divide country, says party is now trying to create north-south divide.

"The Congress which never gave complete reservation to OBCs, which never gave reservation to the poor of the general category, which did not consider Baba Saheb worthy of Bharat Ratna, kept giving Bharat Ratna only to its family. They are now preaching to us, They are now teaching us the lesson of social justice," PM Modi said.

"Congress party strangled democracy for power. They dismissed democratically elected govts. overnight. They put the dignity of democracy behind bars. They shut down the newspaper outlets... This very congress is preaching to us about democracy and federalism," he said.

"Now, the Congress has started creating the narrative of breaking the country. Statements are being made to divide the country into North-South," he added.
