Inderlok is poised to become one of Delhi Metro’s biggest interchange stations rivalling Connaught Place and Kashmere Gate once the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor is completed under the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Phase IV expansion.

TOI reported that the new upcoming station at Inderlok will seamlessly integrate with the existing Red and Green Line interchange through a foot overbridge (FOB) at the concourse level, offering a paid-to-paid connectivity.

“A new station is being built at Inderlok due to operational requirements. A paid-to-paid connectivity is being provided between the new corridor and the existing lines, significantly improving passenger flow and reducing transfer time,” said a DMRC official.

This strategic junction will serve the new 12.4 km long corridor from Inderlok to Indraprastha — an extension of the Green Line which will include 10 stations, five of which — Inderlok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, and Indraprastha will be key interchange points.

“Once the station is ready, its platform will be used for Metro services, providing a direct connection from Indraprastha to Mundka. The existing platform will be used as property development area,” added the official.

The new Inderlok station will feature a platform designed for six-coach trains, four lifts, eight escalators, and automatic fare collection gates, ensuring commuter convenience.

Of the 12.4 km corridor, 11.3 km will be underground while the remaining stretch, including the new Inderlok station, will be elevated. A tender has already been floated for construction of the elevated section of the stretch.

The corridor will strengthen east-west connectivity, linking West Delhi directly to the Central Delhi.
