Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra stated on Wednesday (29 October) that the public has contributed more than Rs 3,000 crore towards the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Hindustan Times reported.
So far, nearly Rs 1,500 crore has been spent on construction, and completing the remaining works across the temple complex is estimated to take the cost to Rs 1,800 crore.
“Devotees have contributed more than Rs 3,000 crore towards the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The total cost of the temple project is estimated at around Rs 1,800 crore, and billing of about Rs 1,500 crore has been completed so far,” said Mishra.
He added that devotees who contributed after the 2022 fund dedication campaign will also be invited to the flag hoisting ceremony scheduled for 25 November.
“All donors will be invited to the flag hoisting ceremony atop the spire of the Ram temple on 25 November,” he said.
Companies, suppliers, and workers associated with the project will be honoured at a grand event in the temple complex after the ceremony, where they will be felicitated with commendation certificates.
According to Mishra, the main temple can house between 5,000 and 8,000 devotees at a time.
The ‘darshan’ route leading to the southern exit takes about 20 minutes, while the complete path up to Sugriv Kila takes nearly 40 minutes.
To make the visit easier for devotees, three designated spots have been set up near the parkota for keeping shoes and slippers, and the parkota construction is scheduled to be finished by 5 November.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the 25 November ceremony and will hoist the flag atop the temple spire.
He is also likely to visit the Sheshavatar temple, Kuber Tila, and Sapt Mandapam within the 70-acre complex. Over 8,000 guests are expected to attend the event.
