Assam is set to enhance its transportation network with the construction of a 4-lane Gauripur Bypass on National Highway-31 (NH-31), a move expected to improve connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and attract investment to the state, reported India Today.

The Rs 206.88 crore project will play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity and attract investment to the state.

Key Areas to Benefit from the Project

The Gauripur Bypass will enhance connectivity between Dumardoha, Khudimari, Fulkumari, and Baladmara, providing smoother and faster routes for both local commuters and commercial transport.

By improving road infrastructure, the project aims to reduce travel time, ease congestion, and facilitate the movement of goods and people, making Assam a more attractive destination for investment.

Project Awarded to Lowest Bidder

The bid for the project, issued on 2 September 2024, was awarded to the lowest evaluated bidder, who quoted a price of Rs 206,88,13,211.

The selected contractor has been instructed to acknowledge the Letter of Award (LOA) and sign the contract agreement within the stipulated timeframe.

To ensure project completion as per the required standards, the successful bidder is also required to provide a performance security of Rs 6.2 crore, along with an additional performance security of the same amount, within 30 days of receiving the LOA.
